The South Eastern River Basin District Project is the first project set up in Ireland to support the implementation of
the Water Framework Directive. The project, which is funded by the National Development Plan, commenced in April 2002
and was initially a four year project. However, in September 2006 it was formally extended until December 2008.
This website outlines the progress of the South Eastern River Basin District Project in implementing the Water
Framework Directive.
